Frequently asked questions

How do I prep for my appointment?

For makeup: Please ensure your face is completely cleansed and clean of all makeup ensuring you do not have residual mascara or eyeliner in your lashes or waterline. Don’t forget to remove any sleep from your inner corners! Your usual skincare routine is fine.

For hair: Shampoo twice and condition once the evening prior to your appointment. Blow dry your hair and do not add any styling products.

Will I need to touch up my makeup?

Your makeup will be applied in such a way and with quality products that encourage maximum long-lasting wear, however skin naturally does crease and move as we do, it’s what makes us human! If your skin is prone to getting oily, I would recommend having a powder compact on hand to touch up throughout your event. No matter the occasion, I always recommend having your own lipstick for topping up throughout.

Can I come to you?

No, Ellie Ross HMUA is a mobile artist only. Travel fees do apply so it is best to enquire for a customised quote. You can find our contact form here.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, to secure your appointment date and time there is a $50.00 deposit per person. For wedding dates, Ellie will provide you with a customised deposit quote. For full deposit terms & conditions, please click here and scroll to the bottom of the page.

When is my payment due?

For event makeup: Your final payment is due at the completion of your appointment. Please be prepared with your chosen payment method.

For weddings: You will receive your final invoice the week prior to your wedding date. You are welcome to settle your outstanding amount early, should you wish to do so.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Cash, electronic bank transfer, invoice and credit card is available. Credit card purchases incur a 1.9% processing surcharge.

Can I book you for a partial makeup service? E.g., Just eyes or just face?

Unfortunately, Ellie does not take bookings for incomplete makeup applications. For a makeup application to be whole, complete and truly representative of Ellie’s work, the makeup needs to be done by her in its entirety. This also ensures maximum longevity.
